Jesus as “The Lamb of God”

Jesus, Lamb of God

Many thanks to Junelle Jacobson, author of “Yes and Amen” blog.. for allowing me to use her lamb images here…Check out her etsy shop to order a few of these for yourself!

Last week, while I was thinking, praying, and writing about the creative prompt, all I could think about was Jesus as the Lamb of God (one of the metaphors from last week’s list) coupled with these pictures.  These little ones are so approachable, so full of character, so innocent, just begging to be hugged, delighted in, enjoyed, admired, loved.  And the barn in the center reminded me of the invitation to enter His rest, and of the shelter He provides.  When I picture Him as a lamb He is so approachable, unintimidating, simple; I WANT to come to Him, I WANT to be in His presence, I WANT to enter into His rest.  I don’t have to bring anything with me, no performance, no strengths, no proof that I am worthy…I just enter the Presence of the Lamb…just as I am…

(This is my entry for last week’s prompt.  Tomorrow will bring a new one!)
