Test #1: Is this consistent with His Word?
You may not know large amounts of Scripture, but the Lord knows that and He frequently speaks from what you do know.
In addition, if you think you are hearing His voice, and He is speaking about a certain topic, you can do a word search or topical search in a Bible Program (I list my favorites at the bottom of this post) to find ALL the Scripture related to that word or topic…and by reviewing these words/passages, it is possible to clearly understand what you believe God is saying…
