Behold, A Son!
Today we take a look at the first of the 12 tribes of Israel, Reuben… Leah conceived and bore a son and named him Reuben, for she said, “Because the Lord has seen my affliction…Genesis 29:32 Perhaps it is because time hasn’t slipped very far from the season of Advent, when the ancient prophecy is repeated “…Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” Isaiah 7:14 KJV, that makes me think of Jesus at Leah’s declaration…you see, Reuben means Behold, a son! in the Hebrew language. Tithing the year…
This is what He said, what He wanted for me at the first of this year, was to give to Him the first of the year, “…the tithe of time for this year“. 36 days! One tenth of 365… I counted it – all the way to February 5th (or 6th). 10 days in I know how easy it is to fail… which is always the reason I fall on grace. 3 Short Thoughts on Anger…
In talking to people in the counseling room, I find there is invariably some problem with anger… Many times, I talk to adults who were not allowed to express anger as a child. These children can grow into adults who believe any anger is sinful, whether it is simply feeling the emotion of anger, or worse yet, expressing that anger. Of course, there are healthy AND unhealthy ways of expressing anger, and the unhealthy ways usually do result in sinful behavior of some sort as the angry person is probably lashing out at something or someone. Christians raised in such a fashion especially seem to have difficulty perceiving that love…

5 Tests for “Is This God?” – Test 1
Test #1: Is this consistent with His Word? You may not know large amounts of Scripture, but the Lord knows that and He frequently speaks from what you do know. In addition, if you think you are hearing His voice, and He is speaking about a certain topic, you can do a word search or topical search in a Bible Program (I list my favorites at the bottom of this post) to find ALL the Scripture related to that word or topic…and by reviewing these words/passages, it is possible to clearly understand what you believe God is saying… Here are my favorite online research sites: Bible Gateway Bible Hub Blue…
