  • Making the Invisible Visible – A Time of Emerging

    February 9, 2022 /

Deep within there is a seed of what God has dreamed for you.   He’s planted it inside you, before you were even born, when He wove your intricate parts together in your mother’s womb.   There are many seeds. Some take longer to germinate than others, but they are there, hidden in your soul, invisible changes taking place.   When the time is right, seeds break forth from their shell and emerge, breaking through the surface, mature and thrive, creating new seeds that must go through the same process for their harvest to be produced.   Trust the process. There is a season for each stage of the life…

    January 27, 2021 /

How and Where God Speaks "The hand of the Lord was upon me there, and He said to me, 'Get up and go out to the plain, and there I will speak to you.'" Ezekiel 3:22 God speaks in many different ways to His children. He spoke through a bush to Moses. He spoke through a donkey to Balaam. He spoke through prophets to His kings. He speaks through other believers. He speaks directly to us through the invisible Holy Spirit. And He speaks even through circumstances. When God wants to speak a very important word directly to us without interruption from the noise of our busy lives,…

Today, I'm doing a bit of a Bible study in the book of Ezekiel instead of introducing a new Hebrew word for 'spirit'...I pray you are strengthened and encouraged as you reflect on all of it!

Day 43 — God is Spirit (Part 2)

The Spirit of God
does not merely surround believers—
He dwells within them.

✨

The breath that gave life to Adam,
the wind at Pentecost,
the Spirit poured out upon the Church—

now lives within His people.

 ✨

Breath Reflection:

Breath within breath.
Wind within the soul.
Christ within us.

Day 42 — God is Spirit

Sometimes we search for God
only in what is visible, measurable, or certain.

But the Spirit often moves
like the wind—
quietly, invisibly, powerfully.

✨

Today, slow down long enough
to notice where His breath
may already be stirring your soul.

There is no ancient Hebrew word that can be direct There is no ancient Hebrew word that can be directly translated "invisible". Instead, Old Testament verses indicate God is invisible by emphasizing His lack of physical form, the prohibition against seeing His face, and the unsearchable nature of His greatness. Key verses describe Him as a spirit who cannot be depicted or directly seen by human eyes, emphasizing His intangible nature.

For Example:
1. No Human Can See His Face: "But," he said, "you cannot see my face, for man shall not see me and live" (Exodus 33:20).

2. No Form or Shape Seen: "Then the LORD spoke to you out of the midst of the fire. You heard the sound of words, but saw no form; there was only a voice" (Deuteronomy 4:12).

3. Unsearchable Greatness: "Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable" (Psalm 145:3).

4. Hidden/Unseen God: "Truly, you are a God who hides yourself, O God of Israel, the Savior" (Isaiah 45:15).

5. Invisible Nature: By faith, Moses "endured, as seeing him who is invisible" (Hebrews 11:27, reflecting on his OT experience).

Day 41 — God’s Invisibility

God is unseen—
but not absent.

Hidden—
but not distant.

✨

The invisible God
made Himself known through Christ,
and still reveals His presence
to hearts willing to seek Him.

Day 40 — God’s Simplicity

God is not divided.
His love does not compete with His holiness.
His justice does not diminish His mercy.

Everything He is
exists together
in perfect fullness.

✨

Like white light through a prism,
we see many beautiful attributes—
but the light itself remains one.

"Impassibility" is not a word we hear in sermons o "Impassibility" is not a word we hear in sermons often - if at all! But as strange as it is, it is an important attribute for us to understand in this culture. God's love is unchangeable and immense - flowing to 1000 generations - and we are in that flow!

Day 39 — God’s Impassibility

God is not unstable.
Not reactive.
Not ruled by changing emotion.

His love does not rise and fall
with our circumstances.

✨

Because He is unchanging,
we never have to fear
that His heart toward us
has shifted.

Day 38 — God’s Wrath

God’s wrath is not like human anger.
It is not reckless, reactive, or uncontrolled.

It is holy.
Righteous.
Intentional.

A response to all that destroys
what He loves.

✨

And where justice required a cup—
Christ chose to drink it.

Day 37 — God’s Wisdom (Part 2)

God’s wisdom is not hidden from you—
it is given to those who ask.

Not once.
But continually.

✨

Today, lay down your need to have all the answers—
and step into a posture of seeking.

He is ready to give.

Wisdom isn't hard to come by, but it does take ded Wisdom isn't hard to come by, but it does take dedication and commitment...to get wisdom, we have to press in to God even when we don't understand where we find ourselves, or when circumstances may tell us He isn't paying attention....it is then, and sometimes only then, when wisdom begins to form!

COUNTING THE OMER

Day 36 — God’s Wisdom

God’s wisdom is not rushed—
it is right.

We often try to understand everything,
to make sense of what feels uncertain.

But God is not guessing.
He sees the end from the beginning
and orders all things with perfect care.

✨ Today, consider:
Where might God be inviting you to trust His wisdom
instead of striving for your own understanding?

The question of "what is truth" isn't answered by The question of "what is truth" isn't answered by knowing what we feel, think, or believe, or even what our culture tries to influence us to feel, think and believe...the answer lies in Who God is, His character, His Presence. His truth changes perception...even if we have to wait for a time for His truth to be made manifest...

Day 35 — God is Truth (Part 2)

God’s truth is not something we create.
It is something we return to.

“Behold, You desire truth in the inward being…” — Psalm 51:6

We are shaped by voices,
by experiences,
by what we’ve believed over time.

But God gently reveals what is true—
not to shame,
but to restore.

✨ Today, consider:
What truth might God be inviting you to return to?
