A Cord of Three
I created this image near the beginning of when I began to explore art through the world of mixed media and collage several years ago…I had just completed an online painting/collage class offered by Paulette Insall,and discovered Kelly Rae Roberts through Stampington magazine. So, armed with a little knowledge and tons of inspiration, and head swimming through the constant creativity I find in Scripture, I was eager to tackle this first fully original project…as I sketched, the middle girl took on some semblance to my sweet tweener, and the girl on the right reminded me of her best friend. The woman on the left has a hairdo like the one I seem to always don, and so in some small ways, this became a “self-portrait”. The soft vintage colors can blend with most any decor. Since there were three girls, the scripture (which you can find handwritten along the borders of the painting) “a cord of three strands is not quickly broken” came to mind. And it is my prayer that we all continue in friendship through their years to adulthood and beyond. Do you have a relationship like this? Then you are blessed!
